The Podcast Design Method

Great podcasts are designed before they're recorded.

The thinking - who it's for, what it sounds like, whether the format holds up long-term - often happens by accident, or not at all.

That's usually why shows lose momentum.

The
Podcast Design Method is my framework that puts the thinking first.

Four stages, applied in order, each with a clear output.

Four stages. Applied in the right order.

Each stage has a clear purpose and a clear output. Every decision is made deliberately with your specific show, audience and goals in mind.

1

Intent

FOUNDATION

Who is this for, and why should it exist? The work most podcasters skip and the thing that determines everything after it.

2

Form

EPISODE BLUEPRINT

Solo, interview, or co-hosted. Video vs audio. Length, structure, frequency. Leads, awareness, ecosystems. All chosen on purpose, not by default.

3

Sound

TRAILER CONCEPT

Name, tone, sonic identity. How is the show packaged, recognised, and differentiated from what's already out there. Trailer writing and host preparation.

4

Release

LAUNCH ROADMAP

Distribution, platform selection, launch sequencing- all built around goals and capacity. A realistic plan for the first few months - not just launch day.
